Finding the best affiliate marketing programs really should not be so difficult. You simply need to use the following checklists of questions to look into before signing up with anyone…
What Do They Offer?
What kind of deals do they offer? What sort of a percentage are you looking at? If you are going to be taking anything less than a dollar a transaction, you may as well forget it, since that’s not even enough to cover the paypal fees. This is not to say that you should only deal in big ticket items, but make sure you are getting a fair percentage. A good affiliate program might start you out at a ten percent cut of the final sale price.
What Are You Selling?
The worst thing you can do with an affiliate plan is try and sell something nobody wants. When you look at the products, ask yourself “would I use this?” If you cannot even picture a world where you would use such a product, nobody else can either.
More importantly, it should interest you. If you want to make money easy, write about something you would write about for free if you had to.
Is There a Market?
Your best bet is really to just go ahead and see. Some products clearly have no market, while others might have a surprisingly large market. It’s all about experimentation, but at least look for products that will probably sell in numbers high enough to justify marketing.
Some Things to Keep in Mind
Remember that affiliate marketing takes a little while before it’s really making you much money. You need to build up an audience, a readership, you need to really convince people they need what you’re trying to help sell.
What it really requires is passion and good content. Provide those, and you should do just fine.
